Harrisburg vs Elk-Point Jefferson Volleyball: Pink Out 2011

Harisburg Tigers vs Elk-Point Jefferson Huskies

One theme was evident last night and that was the color pink! It was the 3rd annual "Dig for a Cure" breast cancer awareness volleyball match between the Lady Tigers and the Lady Huskies. Here is a recap of last night's action from the Harrisburg gym.

Game #1 The huskies jumped out 6-0 early only to see the Tigers fight back to a 7-7 tied, after going back and forth for most of the game it ended up tied at 19. The huskies pulled ahead 23-19 and went on to take the game 25-19.

Game #2 The Tigers came right back in the 2nd game jumping on the Huskies 10-7, after a timeout by the Huskies the Tigers managed to build a 5 point lead at 16-11. The tigers rode the momentum and the crowd to win the 2nd game 25-18.

Game #3 The tigers use the momentum gained in the last game to take a 6-4 lead but after a timeout by the huskies they regained control and never looked back jumping out to a 15-11 lead and cruising to a 25-15 win to gain back momentum.

Game #4 The huskies used that momentum and got out to a 4-0 start, after a timeout by the tigers the huskies build the lead to ten leading 14-4. The tigers could not get any closer then 18-9 and the huskies went on to win the
4th game 25-13.

Some game stats include:

For Harrisburg: Kaylee Schirado had 10 kills and Jordan Beiswanger had 14 assists

For Elk-Point Jefferson: Lexi Branson had 21 kills and Hope Erickson had 19 assists

Harrisburg (5-9) is at Dakota Valley on Thursday, Oct 6th
Elk-Point Jefferson (12-7) is at South Sioux City, NE on Monday, Oct 10th.
